2015 CPOP Winners
The 0215 West Cheshire MGOC group attended the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power (CPOP) over the weekend of the 12-14th June and returned home winners!
Although a little smaller this year, there was still plenty of action on the track, the mere and in the air.
On Sunday, the Vulcan made its last appearance over Cheshire, sadly, but what a sight to behold. For MG enthusiasts there was a 1939 MG TB and a Metro 6R4 competing, whilst in the trade area, MG Motor UK were there with their radio control racing stand.
The West Cheshire MGOC club fielded 22 individual MGs, with 13 cars on the stand each day. These ranged from a 1955 MG TF of Neil Wallace to a 2013 MG3 of Peter Russell, and included an MGA, MGBs and an MGC, a Midget, MGFs and TFs (two monochrome variants), ZRs, a ZS and ZT 260 V8, and an MG6. The star of the stand was Kevin Robinson’s MG SV which almost took the Best Car award in the Car Club display category, narrowly beaten by an Alvis, but West Cheshire MGOC took home the trophy for the best Car Club display!
We’re looking forward to defending our title in 2016, and a big thank you to all that attended to help make it a great weekend.
