August - Cholmondeley Castle
On Sunday, August 31, 2014 a number of members attended the 27th Festival of 1000 Classic Cars & North West Classic Motorcycle Show.
The members met up just up the ‘slip road’ at the Cheshire Cat pub on the A41 at Christleton at 9.45am before driving over to the Castle. The gazebo was packed in the car in case needed but the weather was brilliant with sunshine all day! Mike and Angie brought along the cooker and a supply of bacon rolls!
Cholmondeley Castle is without doubt the largest one day classic event in the north west with an unparalleled selection of classic cars and bikes on display and the castle itself providing a stunning backdrop to the whole event. The show now regularly attracts over 1,000 display vehicles, 50 plus stalls and over 5,000 visitors through the site during the course of a day.
The members displaying cars included:
Mike & Angie Haughton in Mike's MGC GT (The Midget decided to play up so was left behind with the 6 for company as punishment!)
John Myers and his wife in their MGB GT
Terence Hunt and his wife in their MGB GT
Mike in his MGB GT
Neil Wallace in his MG TF 1500
Phil in his MG Midget plus friend in a second Midget
Derek and grandson Harrison in their MGF
Gail and children and dog in their MG3
Martin in his MGB GT
And lastly, a new recruit to the club, Chris in his MG BGT
